Johan Falkberget
(1879-1967) portrait by Harald Dal. Author and poet from Rugldalen, famous for works like Den fjerde nattevakt (The Fourth Night Watch) and Nattens brød (The An-Magritt-quadrilogy). He was nominated for the Nobel Price of Literature.
Svend Aschenberg
Pastor at Røros 1818-1845. The character Benjamin Sigismund in The Fourth Night Watch is loosely based on his life and times.
The Old Church of Røros
A basilica built 1650-51. Its location was just outside the gates of today’s church.

The carvings were done by Peder Ellingsen.

Hans Olsen Aasen

Peder Hiort
Peder Hiort; Director of the Mining Company at the time when Røros church was built. Originally a student of Theology, he ended up working for the Mining Company in Røros where he after twenty years eventually became the Director (as the only local ever to do so). Through his will he created a foundation which aim was to help the poor of Røros; the foundation still exists today. His grave is in the small pink wooden chapel next to the church.
The Baroque Organ
The Baroque Organ of Røros was used in the Old Church from 1742. It is one of the oldest organs in Norway. Restored to its former glory in 1996, it has 10 stops and about 500 pipes.
The Militia
The Mining Company had a voluntary militia consisting of two divisions. The divisions’ banners have hung in church since 1984.
Christian VII
Monogram of Christian VII, King of Denmark-Norway when the church was built (1780-84, he reigned 1766-1808). An "F" on both sides of the organ are the initials of Crown Prince Fredrik.
Chandeliers
The chandeliers were made in Trondheim of wrought iron and later copperplated at Røros and placed in the church during WWI.

Johannes Irgens / Elisabeth Arnisæus
Behind the altar we find a double portrait of dr. med. Johannes Irgens (Director 1651-59) and his wife Elisabeth Arnisæus. The painting is by an unknown Dutch or German painter. Peder Lilje made some later adjustments

The New Organ, Ryde & Berg Opus 99 with 33 stops, completed in December 2012.

Paintings
The paintings above the doors are by Peder Lilje (late 17th century). Above the exit we find “The Holy Trinity”, on the right David (with harp) and Solomon, on the left Moses and Aaron. All three paintings used to hang in The Old Church.
